Angus Bull

Commissioned by Angus New Zealand for the PGG Wrightson World Angus Forum, October 2013
When Lana visited the Merchiston Homestead near Rata in the Rangitikei District to photograph New Zealand’s top Angus breeding bull, she was blown away by the size and magnificence of this animal. Capturing very specific features, significant to this special breed, she was absolutely adamant that he should be portrayed and transposed to canvas in true life size form. To finish off with the iconic kiwi number 8 wire fence post in the foreground using relief work,  the painting delivered the true wow factor she was hoping for.
